Job Description:
ARTucker Co-Directors
Mission: ARTucker, INC, a non-profit organization in Tucker, GA, is dedicated to showcasing Georgia artists and makers while growing a vibrant, inclusive art-loving community right where we live.
Positions: Two (2) Art Show Co-Directors (Outdoor Festival – 50-75 artists). These are Volunteer positions.
Role Overview: Part-time / Seasonal positions, reporting to the Board of Directors. Planning, Curating, Marketing and Operating all aspects of annual (April/May) local art market. Estimate 10 hrs/wk Jan & Feb; 20 hrs/wk Mar–May.

ARTucker, an annual one-day market of local artist wares, seeks 2 Co-Directors to take the helm of its spring event. These individuals must be able to work together, but have very different tasks to fulfill to produce a successful show.
Primary to both roles is the ability to maintain ARTucker’s mission and values, and

to have a clear understanding of the art show from conception to completion
to establish the tone, style and focus of show, including visual and performing arts
to act as anchor of the event; be the public face of ARTucker; be present on event day from set up to take down
to maintain relationships with all stake holders
to lead, delegate and oversee the efforts of others
to coordinate and direct seasoned Board Members by coordinating, scheduling and delegating assignments

have the ability to juggle multiple demands and deadlines
have strong strategic thinking and decision making skills

Co-Director #1 (Technology/Marketing Chair) will manage technology tasks that underpin the event, with the assistance of dedicated Board Members, including

creating marketing for event
maintaining 3 computer databases
executing web design and updates
promote show through press and social media

Skills Needed:

computer skills in Excel, Word, Eventeny, GiveButter and other new software as required
communication ability, both speaking effectively and listening attentively
excellent organizational, time-management and decision-making skills for event with many moving parts

Co-Director #2 (Communications Chair) will be the Communicator for the event, with the assistance of dedicated Board Members, including

working with Tucker Recreation Center to secure location and date
setting rate for artist fees; coordinate a Call for Artists
facilitating application process (Co-Director have final say)
communicating with artists from start to finish
having excellent organizational, time-management and decision-making skills for event with many moving parts

Jointly, the Co-Directors will

oversee the layout, artist coordination and logistics of the art show, ensuring a smooth experience for participating artists and guests
work with outside services and inspire a team of dedicated volunteers
control costs for space, permits, transportation, honorariums, etc.
be budgeting and financial managers, assisted by Board Treasurer
secure sponsors and funding for the event, assisted by Board Members

Easy and convenient nearby parking, follow the signs to the event. Look for the entrance arch! Shuttle Service Available!

New for 2026/New Location:
Parking is available throughout downtown Tucker and at Handy Ace Hardware (3979 Lawrenceville Highway). Our thanks to Handy Ace for offering their lot for our use.

If using the Handy Ace lot, attendees are asked to locate posted signage for designated ARTucker parking areas.

The public will want to use our complimentary ARTucker shuttle service that runs from the Handy Ace lot to the festival grounds.

Other Events Happening 4/25 in Tucker:
You’ll be able to spend a fantastic day in Tucker on April 25 as there are two more great events to attend in addition to ARTucker.

First, celebrate Earth Day with The City of Tucker and FODAC as the City hosts a fun and impactful event all about recycling, reusing, and showing some love to our planet! Bring your gently used Home Medical Equipment (HME)and electronics—working or not, including computers, laptops,
game consoles, and televisions—and help give them a second life.

We’re excited to partner with FODAC to turn your spring cleaning into something good for the community and the Earth!
